GE Fanuc PLC Tech Support developed SerialCommTest to help our customers test GE Fanuc PLC serial communications. This program started as the DOS TestCOM program in 1996 to expand on the Logicmaster 90 LB program. It is now a 32-bit Windows program for compatibility with VersaPro and CIMPLICITY HMI programs.
With SerialCommTest, you can:
• Tests connection to PLC using serial direct or multidrop with CPU ID
• If connect fails, can automatically retry using all Data Rates and Parity
• Select any COM port with warning displayed for IRQ or port conflicts
• Loopback test identifies which COM port and checks RX->TX and RTS->CTS
• Shows cables with signal pin-outs for 25 combinations of computer and PLC ports
• Display memory available in 16-bit DOS box for Logicmaster programmers
• Edit proper CONFIG and AUTOEXEC files based on operating system
• Makes recommendations for system files and warns of missing files

The modem setup is for PLC modmes only as the PLC dialer program is in the StartS90 program on the web site. In fact, SerialCommTest is just a sub-set of three dialog screens from the StartS90 program.
